Australian Graduate Survey (AGS)
The AGS is conducted yearly and coordinated by Graduate Careers Australia (GCA). It is administered by each University in April and October. The survey consists 2 components:
GCA analyses and reports results of the AGS (including the CEQ) for all higher education institutions to the Australian Government Department of Industry, Innovation, Climate Change, Science, Research and Tertiary Education. The Government uses this data to access and plan for the needs of the higher education sector.
All undergraduates and postgraduates from coursework programs receive the CEQ as part of the Australian Graduate Survey. The Postgraduate Research Questionairre (PREQ) is sent to those who complete a postgraduate research degree.
UTAS uses results from the AGS to further develop its programs and improve the quality of its courses. The GDS results are used to access the employment outcomes of graduates and used for career and study choices by both the UTAS Careers Office and students.
Useful information on the AGS:
UTAS carries out its own analysis of the CEQ results based on the methods used by GCA. The interpretation of the survey data is reported based on a percentage agreement. A summary of the 2012 report of the AGS for UTAS is available here.
To encourage participation in the Australian Graduate Survey, UTAS offers incentive prizes to repondents.
