The UES is a new survey (piloted in 2011) coordinated by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). The survey focuses on aspects of the student experience that are measurable and that are linked with learning and development outcomes. This survey is anticipated to be conducted annually with first and final year undergraduate students.
In 2012, the Department of Industry, Innovation, Climate Change, Science, Research and Tertiary Education (DIICCSRTE) announced the UES would be administered centrally through ACER via email and CATI (telephone) surveys to a sample of first and final year students. UTAS participation in the 2012 UES covers the following 5 variable measurements:
