The Student Centre provides a range of services to support your students. Student Learning Drop In is a peer mentoring program that complements the Peer Assisted Study Session (PASS) program. PASS focuses on discipline specific study skills and Drop In focuses on general study skills. High achieving students are invited to apply and, after a selection process, the successful applicants receive initial and on-going training. They are provided with supervision and guidance from the Student Learning team who also undertake observation of the mentors’ practice. This then provides a basis for further professional development.
In 2011, the Student Learning Drop In teaching team, Dr Andrea Adam, Steve Newman and Sally Fuglsang, received a Teaching Merit Certificate in recognition of their contribution to the teaching programs at the University of Tasmania.
