All currently enrolled students at UTAS can use the student learning drop in.
No, you can just drop in during opening hours. Sometimes there may be a short wait, depending on the demand, but someone will be able to assist you.
We will work with you to break down the question, but cannot explain the question to you.
It is often difficult to get started, but we have some useful strategies for planning, structuring and writing your essay.
We can brainstorm key search terms with you and guide you to the library databases. This will help you develop your research skills. We cannot answer content questions but your lecturer and tutor may be able to help. PASS is also great for understanding the subject better.
We can guide you to some great resources and we can explain how and when to reference, but we cannot fix your references for you. What we can also do, if you bring along a draft reference list that have already put together, is to help you to learn correct referencing by working through some of your references with you to see if you have followed the correct referencing style.
While we cannot proofread or edit your work for you, we can share proofreading strategies and skills.
It's great if you can bring along your unit outline, assignment question and any work that you may have completed. If you have a reference guide, then bring that along as well.
