Two UTAS PASS Leaders have been recognised for their outstanding contribution to student learning after being shortlisted in the 2013 Australasian Leader Achievement Awards.
Newnham campus PASS Leader Kelsea Clingeleffer has been shortlisted in the New Leader category for her outstanding contribution to peer learning in Sociology, and Matthew Sakaris of the Sandy Bay campus, in the Senior Leader category for his outstanding leadership in Plant and Cell Biology, and as a PASS Mentor.
Winners of the award will be selected by an international panel of judges at the International Centre for SI at the University of Kansas City, Missouri, and will be selected in recognition of their contribution to student learning and excellence in their role as PASS leaders. Finalists will be announced next month and formally recognised at the National PASS Forum in early October, later this year.
The UTAS PASS program continues to be only one of two programs in the Australasian region that has been recognised every year since the awards were introduced in 2008. UTAS is proud to be part of the PASS international program that supports student transition to university and in providing active and collaborative small group peer learning environments in which students can study and learn together throughout semester with the support of a trained senior student.
Both PASS shortlisted leaders have demonstrated evidence of outstanding performance and quality contribution to learning and development, and we wish them every success with the selection process.
