Staff in Career Development & Employment at UTAS recognise that these days career planning and development is an ongoing and continuous process throughout our lives. We are therefore pleased to offer a range of ongoing services to alumni of the University of Tasmania.
Careers counselling
Alumni of the University of Tasmania can access careers counselling from qualified careers practitioners at the Hobart, Launceston and Cradle Coast campuses. These sessions can be of benefit if you are uncertain about your current direction/options.
Common areas explored through careers counselling include:
- life/career planning
- goal setting
- developing options
- exploring personality work preferences
- job search skills
- interview coaching
- career transition issues
Appointments for Hobart and Launceston can be booked online via CareerHub or Cradle Coast students can call +61 3 6324 3526.
Employment
We list an ongoing range of employment opportunities, many only made available for University of Tasmania students and alumni. All employment opportunities, including links to employer websites and other useful news and information, can be accessed through CareerHub.
Resume Link
Resume Link is an online resource and includes resume examples, audio presentations & links to further web resources to assist you with resume writing. Our careers staff are able to check your resume and provide written feedback or recommend a follow-up appointment.
Other ways alumni can reconnect to UTAS
An important element of career development is for students to access activities that increase their ability to find meaningful employment upon graduation. Examples where alumni can participate include:
- become a mentor in the Career Mentor Program
- introduce work placement/internship opportunities
- be a guest speaker and participate on information panels
- nominate your company for support through university clubs and societies initiatives
