The Career Mentor Program matches UTAS students with alumni on the basis of shared interests, degree background or industry.
For students, it's a valuable way to gain useful career advice, through building an informal and supportive relationship with an experienced UTAS graduate.
For mentors, there is personal satisfaction in making a difference to the career development of a student, and giving back to your university.
Participants in the program can choose to engage in various ways:
Students are matched with a mentor and make contact on a regular basis, either face to face or by Skype or email.
All participants are provided with a program manual which included suggested topics for discussion, self-reflective exercises, and a mentor agreement.
