Career Development and Employment invite you to participate in the University of Tasmania’s Internship and Vacation Work Week.
UTAS Internship and Vacation Work Week is a series of employer run information sessions about internship and vacation work positions presented by local, national and international employers. All of these sessions will be available to attend on the Sandy Bay, Newnham and Cradle Coast campuses via video-link.
Hear from representatives from the following organisations:
Plus generic information sessions on internship and vacation work programs run by Career Development & Employment.
Visit the Events & Workshops tab on CareerHub for the full program and to book in to any of these sessions.
Employers from a wide range of disciplines, including Federal Government Departments, offer internship and vacation work opportunities every year. These programs usually run over the summer break between years and can be anywhere from one week to twelve weeks in duration, but most fall somewhere between these lengths of time. Some internship positions are available within Tasmania, but due to the large number of employers based there, most are available with employers based on the mainland (usually Melbourne, Sydney or Canberra). These opportunities allow you to work in an organisation for a short period of time to gain a better understanding of the work that they do. It’s a great way to ‘try before you buy’ for both students and employers and gives you an opportunity to demonstrate the value that you could bring to the organisation as a UTAS graduate.
We’re really looking forward to assisting you in Building Your Career!
