Faculty of Arts Tasmanian International Scholarship (TIS)

These scholarships provide commencing international students studying in the Faculty of Arts with a 25% reduction in registered tuition fees for the duration of the course.

Eligibility

Available to all commencing international students who submit an application to study one of the eligible programs offered by the Faculty of Arts. Applicants can view a list of Faculty of Arts courses which are eligible for TIS.  Faculty of Arts TIS Offerings.

Applicants are automatically assessed for this scholarship at the time of submitting their International Student Application Form.  Applicants can be awarded a TIS for all semester intakes.  Selection for this scholarship will be based on exceptional achievement in studies at secondary, diploma and degree level courses. IMPORTANT: To be eligible for a Faculty of Arts TIS, applicants will require the equivalent to an ‘A’ average (80% overall). Applicants will be notified in their Offer Packs if they have been successful in being awarded a scholarship provided final results have been submitted. Successful students will, in addition, receive a scholarship offer outlining the details of their TIS including conditions. Students should read their scholarship offer carefully.  Please note that this scholarship is only available to commencing students. The Student Centre will not reassess current students based on their academic progress at UTAS.

Ongoing Eligibility

As of Semester 1, 2013, the Faculty of Arts has raised the ongoing eligibility requirements for this scholarship. Recipients must achieve a Distinction average (70% overall) for the duration of their course to remain eligible.

Examination results are reviewed each semester by the Scholarships Selection Committee to determine ongoing eligibility. Recipients who do not meet ongoing eligibility will be notified by email.

Amount

25% reduction in registered tuition fees for the duration of the course.

Apply

As students are assessed automatically upon submission of their International Student Application Form, there is no need to apply separately, nor do recipients need to apply for ongoing eligibility.
