This scholarship is offered by the National Centre for Maritime Engineering and Hydrodynamics (NCMEH), Australia’s premier maritime engineering facility at UTAS’ specialist institute, the Australian Maritime College. The scholarship is available to commencing and continuing META University College students studying at AMC in 2014 in the following programs:

• Marine & Offshore Systems
• Ocean Engineering
• Naval Architecture

Eligibility

Available to a commencing META University College student entering Year 2, and continuing META students with a Credit average entering Years 3 and 4. Selection for this scholarship for a commencing student will be based on outstanding achievement in Year 1 of Maritime Engineering at META University College. One scholarship will be awarded annually to the highest performing student upon completion of Year 1 of their studies with META.

Continuing students entering Year 3 must achieve a Credit average in Year 2 of their program to be considered. Continuing students entering Year 4 must achieve a Credit average in Year 3 of their program to be considered.

Ongoing Eligibility

To retain this award, recipients are required to maintain satisfactory progress for the duration of the course they have been awarded the scholarship. A minimum of a Pass result in every unit is required to maintain satisfactory academic progress. Examination results are reviewed each semester by the Scholarships Selection Committee to determine ongoing eligibility. Recipients who do not meet ongoing eligibility will be notified by email.

Amount

25% reduction in registered tuition fees for the duration of the course.

Apply

Students are assessed automatically by NCMEH. There is no need to apply separately, nor do recipients need to apply for ongoing eligibility.
