This scholarship is offered by the National Centre for Maritime Engineering and Hydrodynamics (NCMEH), Australia’s premier maritime engineering facility at UTAS’ specialist institute, the Australian Maritime College. Available to eligible female international students with Offers of Enrolment in 2014 for the following programs:

• Marine & Offshore Systems
• Ocean Engineering
• Naval Architecture

The scholarship will cover approximately 75% of the on-campus accommodation costs at one of the Launceston Halls of Residence and is available for the first academic year of study. Recipients must apply for accommodation with UTAS Accommodation Services and cover the application fee of A$80 plus bond of A$500 (as these costs are not covered by the scholarship).

Eligibility

Students must be female and have met prerequisite entry requirements to receive an Offer of Enrolment for 2013 in one of the above listed programs.  Applicants are automatically assessed for this scholarship at the time of submitting their International Student Application Form. Selection for this scholarship will be based on high achievement in studies at secondary, diploma and degree level courses. Applicants will be notified if they have been successful in being awarded a scholarship provided final results have been submitted. Successful students will, in addition, receive a scholarship offer outlining the details of their Women in Maritime Engineering scholarship including conditions. Students should read their scholarship offer carefully. Please note that this scholarship is only available to students entering Year 1 of one of the above programs and is not available to students entering with credit.
