The academic year begins to ramp up
With 2011 now well under way, the University of Tasmania is heading towards the start of a new academic year and a large intake of new students.
To date, more than 5000 enrolment offers for 2011 have been made to domestic applicants.
UTAS manager of marketing and recruitment, Jo Bailey, said places are still available in many courses.
“Applications are still being accepted for most undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs; offers are being made on a weekly basis,” she said.
“We are still receiving strong enquiry levels in the Uni Info Centre and in the past week we have received approximately 300 applications. We certainly encourage anyone thinking about study to realise that it isn’t too late as semester one is still a month away.”
New students are in the process of attending ‘Ready for Uni’ workshops, finalising enrolments, and many are taking advantage of Unistart which is offered on campus and also online leading into semester.
Orientation week begins on Monday February 14; the first day of semester is Monday February 21.
