Get involved both on and offstage
The UTAS School of Visual and Performing Arts will host an event inviting people to join northern theatre groups later in February.
Participants can find out about the northern theatre and community arts scene, how to get involved both on and offstage, upcoming shows and auditions, acting, singing, dancing, set design and creating stage props.
Theatre Fest 2012 is an opportunity for northern Tasmania performing arts troupes to promote their annual program and celebrate their track record: the Launceston Players, the Launceston Musical Society, CentrStage and more.
The project unites local theatre troupes through their mutual purpose of generating new audiences, engaging those who may not realize the benefits of community theatre involvement and ensuring audiences witness local community events as being important, vital, potent and worthy of marking our identity.
Most importantly the expo will demonstrate that diverse companies can create together and celebrate positive community attitude.
Theatrefest will be held at the Annexe Theatre Inveresk on Sunday 26 February, 10am-4pm. Free, no booking necessary.
