UTAS Vice-Chancellor Professor Peter Rathjen will officially launch the newly refurbished Ref this Friday. All UTAS staff and students are invited to attend. There will be coffee and cake, and a coffee-making demonstration followed by a coffee-making competition.
Go in the draw to win a lucky door prize (a coffee machine donated by Scolarest).
The coffee-making demonstration will be presented by Natasha Fyfe, Finalist in the Great Barista Award, Tas Reg 2012.
A small group of UTAS lecturers will then go head to head in a coffee-making competition. Vice-Chancellor Peter Rathjen and TUU President Zara Boarder will judge the best coffee on the day.
The refurbishment of the Ref on the Sandy Bay campus is part of the catering contract between UTAS and master caterer Scolarest.
The Ref has been designed as a contemporary food court and café, with the emphasis on enhancing the student experience and providing a range of food choices at affordable prices.
