Free public lecture by Professor Terry Smith
Professor Terence Smith is an Australian art historian, critic and artist. He will visit the UTAS Tasmanian School of Art to deliver the lecture Contemporary Art: World Currents.
Prof Smith is currently Andrew W. Mellon Professor of Contemporary Art History and Theory in the Department of the History of Art and Architecture at the University of Pittsburgh, and Distinguished Visiting Professor at the National Institute for Experimental Arts, College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales, Sydney.
Prof Smith was also the winner of the 2010 Franklin Jewett Mather Award for art criticism conferred by the College Art Association (USA) and in 2011 he received the Australia Council Visual Arts Award.
Start Date: 27 July 2011, from 7pm- 8pm. NOTE CHANGE OF TIME - LECTURE STARTS AT 7PM NOW.
