Earth Hour events at UTAS northern and southern campuses.

UTAS will again be turning its lights off for Earth Hour to symbolise its commitment to greater action on climate change.
Staff, students and the public are encouraged to participate in the event by ensuring that all non-essential lighting at work and home are turned off between 8:30pm and 9:30pm on Saturday 31 March 2012.
UTAS Commercial Services & Development will be hosting events in the north and south of the state to celebrate Earth Hour:
When: 7.30 to 9.30pm (lights off at 8.30pm), 31 March 2012
Where: Accommodation Services Amphitheatre, top of College Rd, Sandy Bay
What: Live unplugged music, food, drink and candles.
Who: All welcome

Where: Uni bar, Newnham campus
What: Drinks, FREE nibbles and a scavenger hunt by torchlight. Prize to be won.

UTAS Sustainability Manager Corey Peterson said 'Earth Hour represents an opportunity for citizens and organisation across the world to join together in highlighting how important individual actions are in creating a more sustainable future.'
'UTAS plays a significant international role in furthering climate change and sustainability research. This coupled with implementation of policies and programs to integrate sustainability within both its operations and curriculum highlights UTAS’ commitment to the message of Earth Hour.'
