A crowd of more than 300 people attended the Tasmanian University Union’s 2011 Multicultural Night at the Newnham campus on Friday night.
The event was aimed at celebrating the diversity of the Tasmanian community while also having a healthy dose of fun.
Entertainment on the night included belly dancing, Irish music, a fashion show, Indian percussion, and food stalls featuring cuisine from around the world.
The Newnham UniCafe was transformed into an entertainment theatre for the night, complete with stage and neon lighting.
Students, family members, politicians and UTAS staff attended the event which followed on the back of a record crowd for the 2011 Harmony Day event in March.
