The first Tasmanian Health Science Higher Degree Research (HDR) Student Conference took place in July with HDR students from across Tasmania converging on the Medical Science Precinct in Hobart to take part in the event.
Students completing research in an area of health were invited to attend the conference as an opportunity for networking and the sharing of research.
Contributing to the conference was a total of 19 oral and 31 poster presentations.
Associate Dean Research at the Faculty of Health Science, Professor Greg Peterson, said that the quality of presentations was impressive.
“There was excellent representation from across the Faculty of Health Science and Menzies Research Institute Tasmania illustrating the breadth and depth of research currently being undertaken in health science in Tasmania,” Prof Peterson said.
“I would like to thank the Faculty of Health Science research committee for planning and support on the day. After the success of this year, I look forward to a bigger and better conference next year.”
Prizes were awarded in the poster and oral presentation categories:
