The new Arts Student Central services point in the UTAS Sandy Bay Campus Arts Faculty was launched today.
The new services point provides a central location (Level 2, Social Sciences) for students from the seven Schools within the Faculty of Arts at Sandy Bay to submit assignments and get information about courses, units and tutorials.
Professor Sue Dodds, Dean of the UTAS faculty of Arts, said the new service point will be a helpful way to streamline support and information for students and will soon provide a one-stop service for assignment submission and collection.
“Students will have a ‘one-stop-shop’ for all their needs at Arts Student Central.
“Arts Student Central will improve assistance to students with all their queries relating to their studies in Arts in an easy to find location,” Prof Dodds said.
“We have a space where students can meet as well as accessing online UTAS information and help from our friendly staff.”
Student advisers will assist with inquiries ranging from academic consultation times and where to find their lecturers, through to assistance with enrolment for all Schools in the Faculty of Arts.
“We’re working closely with Schools, Student Administration and Student Support and Equity to make it much easier for students to get the information and support they need,” Prof Dodds said.
“We will begin to accept student assignments in a few Schools in second semester 2011 and plan to soon have all student assignments submitted through Arts Student Central.”
