Spam email
Please be advised that a spam email is currently circulating the University's email system and soliciting account information from University members. The message claims that account information is needed due to an issue with lost user data, required for a system upgrade. The message goes on to claim that those who do not supply their details may risk account closure.
An example of the email has been posted on the IT Resources web site: http://www.utas.edu.au/itr/security/issues.html
IT Resources advises all University members that this email is false and should be ignored or deleted. The University does not solicit account information via email, nor do we require any person to submit their password/security details as part of email service management processes.
Any member who has responded to this email is advised to call the IT Service Desk on extension 1818 and immediately change their password, or make use of the University's online password change application at https://password.its.utas.edu.au/ .
