New-look event launched
The annual UTAS Careers Fair has been revamped and is taking its title literally.
Deciding on a future career can be daunting, but the new-look Careers Fair aims to make the decision easy and enjoyable.
The Fair will take place under a striped circus canopy, with fun house mirrors, a career maze, a coffee bar networking area, and lots of presentations and information from potential future employers.
The Fair has also changed from being a single day on the Sandy Bay campus to being a week-long event across all three Tasmanian UTAS campuses.
Presentations will be podcasted online and students are able to Tweet in questions to the various speakers.
UTAS Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students and Education), Professor David Sadler, said the event was a helpful resource for students to consider their futures.
"The Careers Fair encourages our students to consider career paths, learn about their options and network with potential employers.
"The new format of the Fair is structured to give students the flexibility they require to fit sessions in around their study and work commitments.
"We are very pleased to be not only extending the event across a week, but also to bring activities to both our Newnham and Cradle Coast campuses." The Careers Fair was officially launched on Monday 18 March by Professor David Sadler, Minister for Community Development Nick McKim MP and Tony Reidy, TasCOSS CEO.
