The UTAS Tasmanian School of Art will again be offering a range of exciting units in its 2012 Winter School program.
The Winter School is open to interested members of the public and students of any discipline.
Units run over a two to three week period in intensive form, starting in mid-June. They are suitable for anyone who has a passion for the arts and learning. The units will offer participants the opportunity to explore a wide range of artistic disciplines in the visual arts.
A highlight is the course “Introduction to Digital Imaging”. The computer has become the digital "sketch book" of the 21st century, a tool for developing ideas, as well as refining and producing them.
This is an introductory course that focuses on digital imaging technologies, techniques, and aesthetics, developing your ability to use the computer as a tool to express and communicate your ideas.
Units on offer include:
• Core Studies in Art and Design 1B (Light, Form and Expression)
• Digital Fabrication
• Introduction to Alternative Jewellery Design
• Introduction to Digital Imaging
• Introduction to Drawing
• Observational Drawing (Intermediate / Advanced)
The enrolment deadline is mid-May.
