The Festival of Voices event, “Disruptive: Festival of Ideas”, is offering a special half price discount to University students and staff who wish to attend all or part of Disruptive, which runs from July 17-20.
Disruptive brings together the best and brightest thinkers and leaders to transform our world view and create a new Tasmania.
Over four extraordinary days, attendees will be able to share ideas, experience and techniques that have the potential to transform our state.
Presenters and facilitators include Bernard Salt, Louise Yaxley, Ross Honeywill, Michele Levine, Bill Aronson, Michael Bailey, Johanna Baker-Dowdell, Ros Cardinal (Boucher), Daryl Connelly, Sara Cooper, Sally-Anne Cotton, Kylie Dunn, Eidolan Erin, John Harris, Mick Hawes, Drew McGowan, Hank Petrusma, Anna Reynolds, Alison Rogers, Brenda Tsiaousis, Polly Venning and Steve Wiggers.
Disruptive sessions
Wednesday 17 July: Disrupted
Disrupted has been designed around on-line talks, and will showcase some of the most thought provoking ideas worth spreading from the popular TED.com site. The talks that have been selected for inclusion in the day are all about challenging the status quo. The way we think about people, the climate, communication, and the not-for-profit sector are all covered.
Thursday 18 July: Step Up: The Neuroscience of Wise Decisions(Red Pass)
The search is on for the Fortunate 500 Tasmanians willing to Step Up to transform their Tasmanian organisation into a powerhouse of creativity, compassion and courage. This 12 month program will give access to the best thinkers, trainers, personal and business coaches from around the world plus a huge network. Step Up will give you everything you need to make wise decisions. Today’s workshop is a taste. Learn from your Step Up team how to use breakthroughs in neuroscience to make wise decisions to step up.
Friday 19 July: Transforming Possible into Profitable (Blue Pass)
Leading thinkers will deliver short sharp presentations with Q&A to engage participants in discussions. The focus will be how organisations can create sustainable prosperity. Speakers include Bernard Salt, Louise Yaxley and Ross Honeywill.
Saturday 20 July: Unconference (Yellow Pass)
An unconference turns a traditional conference on its head. The aim is to unleash the wisdom of everyone in the room. Come prepared to present, facilitate or lead a conversation on something you feel passionate and positive about. In an unconference everyone is a contributor.
Thursday 18 July: An evening with Michele Levine
(CEO of Roy Morgan Research)
Michele draws on her 19 years’ experience as CEO of one of the most respected research companies to share some of the trends that organisations absolutely need to know to create the future. This evening is bookable separately at $60 and is not included in the Disruptive pass.
