More than 100 school students recently attended the inaugural CrimFest in Hobart.

Presented by the College of Arts, Law and Education, CrimFest provided an opportunity for students to learn more about career opportunities in the legal and criminology fields.

Students heard from academics with a series of talks on criminology, forensic studies, police studies, sociology, journalism, media, law and justice studies.

The event also hosted experts working in the criminal justice system including police officers, forensic scientists and a court diversion officer, with students given the opportunity to meet with professionals and participate in hands-on activities including finger printing and shoeprints.
