For the past four years Jennifer Dickens has been lecturing at the School of Visual and Performing Arts, University of Tasmania in Launceston of which the past two she has received the highly regarded Teaching Merit Certificate. Jennifer also for the past six years has been teaching photography at Scotch Oakburn College.
Jennifer has been a finalist in the City of Hobart Art Prize, The Hutchins Art Prize and the Poimena Art Award in Launceston and in 2009 was the recipient of the Zonta International Award.
Jennifer Dickens completed the Bachelor of Contemporary Arts with Honours in 2004, a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education (Visual arts) in 2009 and is currently completing a Masters of Contemporary Art (Photomedia based).
Jennifer’s primary medium is in traditional photographic practices both as an artist and educator. She has exhibited in a broad range of solo and selected group exhibitions, state and nationally. Her work is held in both public and private collections.
