About Teaching Matters
Teaching Matters is the major showcase for learning and teaching at the University of Tasmania (UTAS). This annual conference began in 2002 and provides an excellent opportunity to discuss ideas and innovations, recognise success in teaching and learning, showcase innovations and engender enthusiasm for excellence in learning and teaching. It also provides a relaxed atmosphere with opportunities for participants to move between a variety of sessions, talk to presenters, and build networks among colleagues. Teaching Matters is open to any academic, general and sessional staff involved in and/or interested in learning and teaching.
In 2007, the Centre for Advancement of Learning and Teaching at UTAS offered conference presenters the opportunity to submit scholarly papers for peer review. The online publication of the Teaching Matters conference proceedings aims to provide a forum for the educators to describe effective and innovative teaching practice in the higher education environment and to communicate their teaching and learning in a scholarly way.
