John Dyson BDS (Lond), PhD (Lond), FADM

Integrating Disciplines: Conceptualisation to Actualisation

John Dyson is Associate Dean (Undergraduate Education) in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Hong Kong. He has played a key role in a significant change process that integrated all disciplinary areas into single innovative curriculum within the Faculty. The change was driven by a need to develop student-centred learning experiences aimed at embedding both generic and discipline-specific graduate attributes within the curriculum. This undergraduate program is now internationally regarded as exemplary.

Recently, Associate Professor Dyson has received a number of teaching development grants for developing e-learning to support a more flexible learning environment for the innovative curriculum. An experienced and respected educator, he has published widely in his discipline area and been invited speaker at conferences around the world.

John Dyson’s current roles include:
