Vongai Dakwa is working on increasing the shelf life of baby spinach and other baby salad leaves, so it keeps fresh in your fridge for longer.

She's researching this for her PhD in collaboration with Tasmanian grower of baby leafy salad vegetables, Houston's Farm. Find out more about Vongai’s research in article by the Examiner.

The ARC Training Centre for Innovative Horticultural Products is training food scientists like Vongai to help deliver premium quality, convenient fresh fruit and vegetables to Australian consumers and nearby international markets.

TheCentre is funded by the Australian Government through the Australian Research Council (ARC) Industrial Transformation Research Program, Woolworths and the University of Tasmania.

Research is done in collaboration with other industry partners and research organisations across Australia.
