This premiere event is to showcase the Tasmanian pasture seed production industry and the opportunities to be had at this pivotal time with recent investment into irrigation schemes throughout the state.

To support this vision, the event theme "what makes a successful pasture seed industry" highlights the success of other pasture seed industries found overseas, especially those found in Oregon and New Zealand. To deliver this, we have included local speakers from the industry but also world class speakers in pasture seed production including:

  • Dr Tom Chastain, Oregon State University, USA
  • Richard Chynoweth, Foundation for Arable Research, New Zealand
  • Murray Kelly, PGG Wrightson Seeds, New Zealand
  • Craig Myall, Heritage Seeds, Australia
  • Dr. Paulo Bardauil Alcântara, Matsuda Group, Brazil

Discussions will include crop agronomy, industry potential and an opportunity to question and meet other producers, industry representatives as well as our speakers. Further, the event includes:

Panel discussions: key speakers from the day will be available to discuss your ideas and visions for the state industry.

Field tour: a day length field tour of key parts of the state industry, including crop tours etc. This will be an ideal time to question key agronomy from our key international speakers.

Conference dinner: a tool in networking with key personnel within the global industry but also some industry overview in a semi-formal environment.

To attend, please register your interest before Wednesday 5th November 2014. Attendance packages include:
