(Level 5, TILES, School of Government, University of Tasmania, Sandy Bay Campus, Hobart)

image

The PhD seminars, training sessions and monthly meetings provide a great opportunity for building up a relationship and support for the PhD and MA students. The events bring together the students, study supervisors, TILES staff and members from other faculties or organisations.

All PhD and MA students are encouraged to attend these events.

Seminar - 29 April 2011 'Post PhD Research Opportunities and Grants'

PhD students had an opportunity to learn about the research opportunities available for post PhDs. Asscociate Professor Roberta Julian presented a topic about the types of grants at the University of Tasmania. It was an informative PhD get together.

Seminar - 7 July 2010 'Graduating on Time' how to enjoy being a student and hand the thesis in on time.

EndNote Workshop

(EndNote is software used to manage the references and format a bibliography)

During June 2011, TILES PhD students took part in an EndNote and database searching workshop. We would like to thank Mr Karl Kent and Mr John Doughty from Victoria Police Forensic Services for releasing PhD student Peter Woodman from his work duties to enable him to fly down to attend the workshop in Hobart.

If you missed out on the workshop then there may be another opportunity in near future. Interested? Contact: Dr Sally Kelty

Next Seminar - Contact PhD Coordinator: Dr Sally Kelty
