Dr Sally Kelty and Associate Professor Roberta Julian (TILES) have received an award for Best Chapter ('The Impact of Forensic Evidence on Criminal Justice: Evidence from Case Processing Studies') in the 2014 National Institute of Forensic Sciences (NIFS) Best Paper Awards.

Dr Kelty and Assoc Prof Julian were presented with their certificates by the Chair of ANZPAA-NIFS, Alastair Ross AM, and Tasmania Police Commissioner Darren Hine. Related news on UTAS.

Dr Katrina Clifford has been awarded a Teaching Merit Certificate for the design, introduction and coordination of the interdisciplinary unit, HEJ342 Media and Crime. Katrina is a Research Associate with TILES who recently returned from six weeks as a Visiting Fellow at Cardiff University in the UK where, as part of her visit, she presented a seminar 'The Vulnerable Thin Blue Line: Mediated Representations of Police Use of Force in Mental Health Crisis Interventions in Australia'
