Research Presented to Audiences in Western Sydney and Macquarie Universities

Dr Nicole Asquith delivered two presentations to audiences in the Western Sydney and Macquarie Universities in February and March 2018. Both presentations were relating to extensive research Dr Asquith has been collaborating on with Dr Isabelle Batkowiak-Théron.

1st presentation - Asquith, NL & Bartkowiak-Theron, I (2018) Police as public health interventionists, Translation Health Research Institute Seminar Series, was presented to members of Translation Health Research Institute (THRI) in the Western Sydney University, Campbelltown (22 February). Dr Asquith is a Research Associate with THRI.

2nd presentation - Asquith, NL & Bartkowiak-Theron, I (2018) Policing precariousness: Accounting for ontological and situational vulnerability in policing encounters, Relational Autonomy, Vulnerability Theory, and Making it Real, was presented in a workshop on Relational Autonomy and Vulnerability - of national and international legal philosophers. The event was hosted by the Macquarie University Research Centre for Agency, Values, and Ethics (23 March).

About Researchers

Dr Nicole L Asquith is an Associate Professor of Policing & Criminal Justice at the Western Sydney University, and is a University Associate with TILES. She is a Co-Director of the Vulnerability, Resilience and Policing Research Consortium (VRPRC).

Dr Isabelle Bartkowiak-Théron is a Senior Lecturer and Tasmania Police Recruit Course Coordinator, University of Tasmania, and is a Senior Researcher with TILES.  Dr Bartkowiak-Théron is a Research Leader of the Law Enforcement and Public Health (LEPH) TILES and a Co-Director of the Vulnerability, Resilience and Policing Research Consortium (VRPRC).
