The conference was hosted in the Prague Congress Centre where the newest advances were showcased in areas of Forensic Sciences, Forensic Anthropology and Crime Scene Investigation. The conference brought together forensic practitioners, educators, academics and exhibitors from Europe, USA and the Asia-Pacific who shared their knowledge and expertise in the forensic field. Concluding this conference, Forensic Science International (FSI) offered the opportunity to publish in a special issue of the journal related to the EAFS.

At the conference, the Director of TILES, Associate Professor Roberta Julian presented a paper on 'The economics and politics of forensic science practice: Can we measure the effectiveness and efficiency of forensic science?'.

Adjunct Researcher Dr Sally Kelty also presented, and her presentation was on 'Dismantling the Justice Silos: Maximising interactions between forensic science, medicine and law in adult and child sexual assault cases'.

Associate Professor Julian and Dr Kelty have been engaged in collaborative research exploring where and how forensic services can add value to police investigations and court trials, and have published extensively on their research.

Other TILES participants included PhD Candidate and Lecturer in Criminology Dr Loene Howes who presented on a paper titled "'Okay…you mean this do you? Oh – you mean that': Experiences of communication about forensic science in police investigations" and PhD Candidate Cheryl Brown who presented on 'Should forensics be more like McDonalds?
