Getting start with UniStart Distance - Step 1

Step 1 - Let's get started by watching this introductory video

I though you may find it interesting to start by watching this introductory video. During the video, students discuss their experiences of becoming university students and how they coped with change.

First, watch the video

To view the video, click here (the video will open in a new browser window or tab). Video plays for 9 minutes, 21 seconds.

Having trouble viewing this video? If you can't view the video at all, download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/. If you can see the video but it seems to be 'broken up', consider viewing it on your UniStart Offline CD. When you open the CD, click on the About UniStart sticky note. Then click on the Instructions for students link in the left side menu bar. On the Instructions for Distance Students page, click on the link called 1. Watching an introductory video.

After the video

In the video we saw that many students experience culture shock when they start university for the first time or come back after a break. Fortunately, by knowing what is expected of you within the university culture, you'll be able to reduce the level of culture shock you feel at university. This is what UniStart Distance is all about - getting you prepared for uni so you can focus on your studies and enjoy the experience!
