Advanced Midwifery Practice CNA748

Offered to Registered Midwives with extensive clinical experience. Completion of the Graduate Diploma in Midwifery (or equivalent) is required. This unit uses group work and late enrolment may affect your ability to participate actively.

Introduction

The aim of this unit is to assist midwives with advanced knowledge and skills to identify and explore opportunities for transformative midwifery practice within their own individual clinical settings. The unit examines and critiques leadership theories and practices in midwifery. Students explore key strategies aimed at stimulating innovation, learning, and collaboration in midwifery practice. The course provides students with the opportunity to gain leadership skills through experiential learning.
