Terms of Reference

To be established by Council, for a period of not less than five years from 1 January 2008, comprising equal membership of the University Council and the Board of the AMC. Members are appointed by Council, nominated by the respective bodies, with a shared chairing arrangement and with the terms of reference to include-

• to review and advise the University Council at least annually whether the implementation of the integration in accordance with the Heads of Agreement
• to advise Council what action, if any, is necessary to rectify implementation, where implementation arrangements are inconsistent with the Heads of Agreement
• where such amendments are considered to be of benefit to AMC and UTAS, to recommend amendments to the Heads of Agreement
• to commission, through the Vice-Chancellor and the Principal of AMC, a substantial review during the fifth year following Integration to advise the University Council and the AMC Board whether the vision and purpose of the integration of the AMC as an institute of UTAS are being achieved and, if not, what action(s) should be taken to rectify this
• consider advice from AGS, reports of recent reviews of the AMC and other relevant documentation and make recommendations to the UTAS Council in relation to –
•  the definition of roles and functions of the AMC Board and its relationship with the UTAS Council
• the definition of reporting lines for the AMC Board, the Principal and AMC Search
• Ordinance 15 and the delegations register.
