Council Elections

Elections will be held in November for 1 member of academic staff and 1 member of professional staff.  Electronic voting will be used for Council elections.

Please remember that under the University of Tasmania Act 1992 (sections 8(3) & 9(2)) that staff members elected to Council are responsible to the Council itself and are obliged to act in the interests of the University as a whole.  They are not 'representatives' of the groups that elect them, but are on Council to add to the perspectives around the Council table.

To be eligible to vote for the academic staff position in these elections you must be a full-time or fractional academic staff member of the University.  To be eligible to vote for the professional staff position your must be a full-time or fractional professional member of the University. Casual staff are not eligible to vote.

Elections will be held by a secure electronic voting system.  You must know your username and password to access the ballot system.  If anyone else knows your password, please change it before voting - you can only submit one vote.  If you have forgotten your password, you will need to contact the Service Desk to get your password changed.

Your vote will be confidential and anonymous.

Voting commences on Tuesday 29 November at 12 noon and closes on Thursday 8 December at 5pm.
