In Academy Gallery B is a collection of designed objects, or rather objects already designed, as if the process of design has passed through them; perhaps they are residues of design. In fact, several are only somewhat object-like, others are not objects at all but ephemerata, atmospheres, sounds, food, places. Now there are curators in the gallery, re-collecting: objects, spaces, and themselves. They come and go, and make things up as they go along as if performing a relational dance; they stop occasionally to have something to eat. And they listen distractedly to past intentions, functions and desires of the designed objects whose perdurance in the gallery are ‘small protests against forgetting.’
