Not Straight Down the Middle: A Life Divided
Greg Leong, General Manager of Theatre North @ The Princess, has never been straight (down the middle). He has been a radio fine music producer, a lecturer in textiles and art theory, a visual & performing artist and a curator of exhibitions. He has also had a successful career as an arts administrator in three countries. For more than four and a half years he made a contribution to the changing cultural landscape in Burnie as Director of the Burnie Arts & Function Centre and Burnie Regional Art Gallery. Now a gig, perhaps his final one, at Theatre North managing The Princess Theatre and the Earl Arts Centre. Can he do for the Princess what he did for the old Burnie Civic Centre and Art Gallery?
Greg talks about his private life and passions as an artist and how on the other hand arts management can be a formidable rival for his creative attention.
