Aims to investigate how historical developments and the current activities of Launceston theatre have been shaped by social, economic and political forces and how the theatre culture of this region has expressed understandings of place, identity and community.
For a city of its population, Launceston has an extremely diverse and vibrant theatre community. The Launceston Theatre Project (LTP) is dedicated to investigating the Launceston theatre scene both past and present. It includes researchers from a range of UTAS Schools and encourages postgraduate students interested in theatre, theatre architecture and history.
