To fully understand, develop and present your own art, theory study is essential in the development of your individual arts practice. The Theory program forms a core part of study in both Visual Arts and Theatre. Students develop the skills required in writing research, interpretation and professional arts practice.
You may continue theory into your third year, if you are planning further study at Honours level, or you may choose to study for a theory major. Core units and a variety of electives introduce you to the writing, research, interpretive and professional practice skills needed for careers in the visual arts, theatre and music. Where possible, the theory program is structured around current exhibitions and performances.
