The Cultural and Creative Industries are the second fastest growing industry in Australia, turning over approximately $21 billon per annum. Opportunities are continuing to develop in the contemporary Australian workforce for creative individuals. The importance of this kind of development has been confirmed in The Australia Council for the Arts Creative Innovation Strategy:
"Australian artists and creative practitioners, working across tertiary, not-for-profit, and commercial sectors in Australia and elsewhere, play a vital role in enhancing and growing Australia’s innovation economy. They are the ‘core producers’ of our high-growth creative industries (Australia Council for the Arts, 2006)".
