Optimising Style Sheets for the Web
Make sure your
style sheets are accessible for people with disabilies
Faster Style Sheets:
Use valid CSS (
validate it
)
Use an external style for all repetitive formatting
Use style sheet shorthand, eg. {margin: 0px} rather than { margin-top: 0px; margin-left: 0px etc }
Where possible, define styles globally in the <body> tag
Create
pages that still function when style sheets are turned off
(W3C Checkpoint 6.1 (Priority 1))
