Creating Better Care – Reflections on Dealing with Dementia

The Faculty of Health’s Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre has pleasure in inviting you to a public lecture by the national ambassador for Alzheimer’s Australia, Sue Pieters-Hawke.

Once dubbed ‘the accidental advocate’, Sue is known for her humour, directness and empathy; and as a creative, constructive problem solver. During the lecture, Sue will share her experiences as an active writer, media commentator and consultant within the healthy ageing and aged care space. Sue will also provide insight into her own personal experiences of dementia, drawing upon her 2011 bestselling book, Hazel, My Mother’s Story.

This event aims to bring together people with dementia, their families, carers and anyone concerned with the impact of dementia on our community.

Following the presentation, audience members will be encouraged to participate in an open panel Q&A facilitated by The Hon. David Bartlett.
