Erica Bell Honours Scholarship 2019

Overview

The Erica Bell Honours Scholarship was established to reward excellence in health services research, to celebrate and honour the extraordinary life and work of Dr Erica Bell.

Erica was working as an Associate Professor at the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre at the University of Tasmania at the time of her sudden passing in 2014. Over the course of her career Erica made a significant contribution to health services research. She was particularly interested in translational health research and the opportunity to bring research evidence together with practice.

An opportunity exists for graduates in any bachelor’s degree related to health, education, social science or equivalent to apply for the Erica Bell Honours Scholarship.

This $10,000 scholarship is available to support a student undertaking a research project in the Wicking Centre, exploring the impact of education on knowledge, attitudes and behaviours toward dementia. Various projects are available.

Eligibility

Available to a student who is commencing an Honours program in Semester 2, 2019 in a field relevant to dementia, supervised through the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre.  The student must be enrolled in a School within the University of Tasmania. Selection will be based upon academic merit.

$10,000 for one year
