Biography
Graeme McCormack has been a part of the UTAS School of Medicine since moving down from Sydney in 1993. He has been employed as a laboratory based research technician in the Department of Biochemistry, Department of Pathology and Menzies Research Institute Tasmania. Graeme currently holds the position of senior technician within the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre.
Research Interests
Mr McCormack has interests in the technical aspects of investigating nerve cell changes in dementia causing conditions such as traumatic brain injury and neurological diseases.
Research Projects and Roles
- Graeme McCormack coordinates the laboratory research platforms used to investigate dementia at a cellular level.
- In addition to providing technical support to research staff and students, Mr McCormack supervises undergraduate, honours and PhD students in a diverse range of techniques associated within these research platforms.
