Biography
Completing a Bachelor of Science with Honours at the Universiry of Tasmania, I worked as a member of the Neuro-Repair Group exploring roles of Metallothionein in the injured brain. I left Tasmania to take up the position of Research Associate at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles exploring the metabolic side effects of antipsychotic medications and their implications to the development of Type 2 diabetes. Upon conclusion I returned to Tasmania to assume the role of Laboratory Technician within the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre where I now explore the roles of anaesthetics in dementia and projects involving novel drug discovery and general research support.
Research Interests
Mr Dittmann handles the day-to-day running of the laboratory, ordering supplies and equipment and providing supporting services for the laboratory based research of the Centre. In addition, he contributes to projects, specifically exploring the role of anaesthesia and the development of dementia and the testing of novel drug developments that may lead to new therapeutic treatments.
