The HR Work Health and Safety Unit co-ordinates the administration of WHS matters at UTAS, particularly in relation to incident and hazard reporting and resolution, radiation safety and hazardous materials management. Staff within the Unit provide advice to Organisational Units in regard to legislative and statutory requirements, standards and guidelines.
Staff within the Unit also oversee the University's compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2012, the Workplace Health and Safety Regulations 2012. Workers Compensation is also managed within this Unit.

The Work Health and Safety Manual is a base document which provides overall advice on areas of health and safety at UTAS and includes links to specific UTAS WHS policies, procedures and guidelines. This document also includes an Action Plan template and Review Checklist. The document can be customised for school and faculty use.
