FieldTeq is the management tool for staff, students and volunteers participating in field activities at UTAS. As well as record keeping it provides a central location for policies and procedures relevant to field safety. FieldTeq incorporates a risk assessment process, project approval and review as well as meeting record keeping requirements.
FieldTeq vendor presentation slides are available here: http://www.fieldteq.com.au/thank-you-ausa-presentation/
For more information about FieldTeq please refer firstly to the Workplace Health and Safety Unit at health.safety@utas.edu.au and then to your school FieldTeq administrators. Role based manuals are listed below.
The UTAS Field Policy must be read and understood by anyone undertaking field activities and field work at UTAS. The Field Policy defines various terms, roles and procedure, and includes the Medical Disclosure and Authorisation Form: Field Policy
Existing users should log in to the FieldTeq page: https://fieldteq.its.utas.edu.au/
New users must register to use FieldTeq. Registration is undertaken by entering your email address (preferably UTAS email) into the login page, with no password. You must then complete the registration process.
New users should refer to the Participants Quick Start Guide during registration.
The registration page for FieldTeq is the same as the login page: https://fieldteq.its.utas.edu.au/
Google Chrome is the recommended web browser for using FieldTeq. This is a UTAS default browser and should be already installed on any UTAS managed computer.
Microsoft Silverlight browser plug in is required to use various components of FieldTeq. Silverlight is installed on all UTAS managed Windows computers by default. If you need to install Silverlight on a non-managed machine, please do so via the official Silverlight page above, and not the link in FieldTeq.
Users with the Activity Plan Coordinator role can install FieldTeq Remote from within the FieldTeq web application and then download plans.
Once downloaded, the coordinator can edit the Post Activity Record and save changes. After adding all the relevant data, the coordinator can sync changes back to the database.
To download a plan and sync a record, FieldTeq Remote must be connected to a network that can access the FieldTeq web application. Records can be updated in the off-line mode but cannot be synchronised to the database.
The role-based user guides provide examples of how and why a user would register for certain role levels within FieldTeq.
