Introduction to International SOS

UTAS has engaged International SOS to provide international travel advisory and risk management services. International SOS will provide the following interim services to authorised staff members, accompanying family members and students  travelling overseas for UTAS business purposes:

• internet access to full services (eg specific country general, security and medical advisories) as well as email updates while travelling.
• Call Centre for medical advice and referrals while travelling as well other issues such as how to replace a lost passport while travelling.

• including access to your SOS Travel Card can be found on the Financial Services website Travel Information (Travel Warnings/Advice)
• international SOS Travel Brief Questions for all Travellers  (Travel Brief Preparation Form) ( Travel Warnings/Advice)
  
• international SOS website.

The University of Tasmania recognises that hazard identification, risk assessment and controls are a critical part of Work Health and Safety (WHS) project and task management. The objective of this Minimum Standard is to provide information on how risks involved with planned activities including field activities are assessed and how controls are selected. It addresses project/task risks, rather than specific hazards identified in the workplace.
